We all remember that gorgeous song from 'The Sound of Music'. In Elementary school we had to sing this EVERY year at a Christmas concert, and oddly enough it inspired a post today. My favorite things.. everything from makeup, to random items that are just my favorite!

Fun Beauty Survey!

1.What time did you do your makeup today?
Around 11:30 , 12 ish! I was getting ready quickly to go to the states!

2. What's the least expensive beauty item you used?
My L'Oreal Mascara.. It's called Extra Collagen or something! It doesn't say on the bottle! It's AMAZING with my eyelashes!

3. What was the biggest problem you needed to correct?
Well I didn't like my eyeshadow, so I had to take it off with a wipe and redo it! But in terms of my face, I guess a scar above my lip! I hate it :( Any tips ?

4. Did you apply false eyelashes?
Nope! I'm hoping to buy some soon :)

5. Did you do anything while applying makeup?
I listened to 'The Hills' in the background. Oh the DRAMA.

6. Biggest makeup mishap today?
I didn't like my eyeshadow, so I had to take it all off and re-do it! Oh and I put too much mascara on my lower lashes, but it just gave me doll-looking eyes! I ended up loving it <3

7. Did you have a makeup inspiration in mind?
Neutral, but gorgeous. Something to bring out the eyes. 'The Hills' was on, so I was thinking Lauren Conrad too!

8. What's the most time-consuming part of your makeup routine?
Gel eyeliner.. I can never get it to match for some reason!

9. What's part of your routine is the most fun?
I love doing eyeshadow, but to me, mascara is SUPER fun! I love seeing the transformation in your eyes & lashes!

10. What part of your makeup makes the biggest difference in the way you look?
Eyeliner! I adore what it does to my eyes.

11. Neutral or colorful eyeshdaow?
Neutral. DEFINITELY.

12. Liquid or mineral foundation?
I haven't been wearing foundation lately! My skin is looking pretty good. But I used MAC MSF Natural!

13. Do you do your hair or makeup first?
Hair.. makeup looks better to me when my hair is done!

14. Did you pack a makeup bag to take with you for the day?
Not anything that I don't usually carry! Lipgloss, little mascara, bobby pins & oil blotting paper, ect! No powder or eyeshadow! I hate re-applying makeup!

15. When did you finish your makeup?
Around 15 to 20 minutes after I started. Usually it's shorter, but I had to take my ES off :/

They. Found. Out.

I am no longer an anonymous beauty "guru" on YouTube. Yup, some guys at my school found out about them, and before you know it, most of the guys know.

Imagine this...

I come to school on Monday and it's lunch time. I'm standing at my locker getting my money out for lunch with some of my friends, when a bunch of guys are staring at me, finally I look at them and say WHAT?!?! and one of my "closer" guy friends comes up to me and says "Are you on YouTube".

I was in shock. How did they find out. Why?!

I replied sarcastically: No, it's just my twin. Of course it's me.

Much to my surprise they handled it extremely well and with no making fun, laughing, ect, what so ever. I appreciated that.

I was thinking though. YouTube is NOTHING to be ashamed of. I love doing this and all I do is make videos. It's not that big of a deal.

So now i'm no longer a secret. People know.

And I don't care.

It all started when...

It all started on September 11th, 2008 when Allie decided to join the makeup community by uploading a horrendous Mini Sephora Haul onto her channel (it's still up, btw. But I think i'll make it private soon!). I was ecstatic when I got my first subscriber and comment, and never expected my channel to blossom into something so amazing and that I loved.
Now one year later, on September 11th, 2009 I still cannot believe that I am still doing this for one, but also, I cannot believe how many people have found me.

When I started my channel, I hardly estimated for 30 people to find me. When I hit 200 subscribers, I remember exactly where I was. I was sitting on my bed (in my old bedroom decor!) with my best friend and she announced it. Now with over 3,000 subscribers, I am in utter shock and I cannot believe it.

Subscriber count doesn't mean anything to me, but when I do think about it, and think about what 3,000 people look like, it's crazy to me. Imagine fitting over 3, 000 people in your house!

What I want to tell you guys is that even though I may be growing, not only in my age but also on YouTube, I always want to remain the same Allie to everybody. I would never want you guys to see me as stuck up, or as rude, or as me thinking i'm better than you.

And i'm telling you now. If I ever become like that, where I think i'm all that and a bag of chips, PLEASE tell me. I will not be offended!

I want you guys to know that I appreciate each and every one of you!

An Explanation on why there's NO videos!

Believe me guys, I want to upload you a video.

I have filmed and have 3 videos ready to upload that are just sitting on my desktop.

But what's stopping me? YouTube.

It just refuses to let me upload ANYTHING.

I can't do a quick capture, nor upload a video.

It's really annoying, since I want to upload some of them! Basically what happens, is that it goes normal, I write in the info, choose my video, click UPLOAD VIDEO and then it loads for like 10 minutes, and goes to that fail page we all know (and love. Cue sarcasm).

What I think is happening, is that when YouTube updated their website with the new search engine and what have you, they didn't re-enable my account. The day the update took place, I did a BlogTV show, and uploaded a quick capture fine. Later that night, after the update, it wouldn't let me upload one thing. So i'm thinking that maybe my account wasn't re-enabled or updated to the new standards. I didn't change anything about my videos, I do the exact same thing, so idk. Hopefully this works soon, I feel really bad!

So as many of you know, I'm in Punta Cana! I got here Friday and it's been really fun. It is SO hot and the beaches are breathtaking! I did some damage in the airport, but not much. The MAC was horrible! They had nothing that I wanted. What a disappointment! The resorts are super huge, so it's not crowded! I mean we have to take this golf cart things just to get to the beach it's so far! We usually walk to the beach in the morning, to work off the amazing breakfast, and then the rest of the day, we take the golf carts. They're super fun and everyone here is so nice. It really makes me sad that they work SO hard, for SO little!

On another note, I am like this close <---> to 2,000 subscribers which still blows my mind! I can't believe that people actually want to watch me! It's weird, exciting and such a cool thing. I am definitely going to be having a contest this fall, so look out for that!

I think i've written enough for now, dolls. But if this whole video thing doesn't get fixed soon, I'll find a way to upload some videos for you!

I've found it, my HG Moisturizer!

My mom went to Shoppers today to pick up some last minute things for our holiday tomorrow(I'm leaving in less than 24 hours!) and she recieved two samples of what I call my new, HG, miracle cream.

From the moment I opened the package, and smelt this mild honey and verrrrry mild sweet smell I was instantly intriqued. I took about a dime size amount, and applied it all over my face, and right away, I fell in love.

The moisturizer also gives your skin an amazing finish (at least on my skin!). It feels amazing, and it's matte after just 1-3 minutes!

It's a little pricey at $40.00 per jar, but I don't mind spending money on something that will improve my skin in the future. This moisturizer is simply amazing. Only a dollop of cream, probably the size (or less) of a dime and applied to my skin. My skin started feeling moisturized, and then so refreshed and calm. It felt so moisturized and smooth, even my mom was very impressed, and insisted I give her the second sample pack.

It's hard to explain the feeling this cream gives my face. It makes is feel so good, and so quenched and then gives this soft, cooling feeling, but it doesn't feel minty. If any of you have used MAC's "Fix +" it feels like that, but much less.

The point of this cream is too:

REPLENISH skin, to restore the damaged cutaneous barrier

Then, SOOTHE it,

Finally, REPAIR to heal and regenerate

It really does do that.

All I can say, is that if I can't find this in duty free tomorrow, I'll be at Shoppers the day I get back!
